Pro Modified Eight-Second ClubThe PRA PRO MODIFIED EIGHT-SECOND CLUB is a performance club that honors the drivers in the PRA Pro Modified class who have run 8.99 seconds or better in the quarter-mile.  To make it into this club they must run the eight-second pass at a PRA event during qualifying or eliminations.  Unlike the ET and MPH records this does not need to be backed up andEric Calabrese (photograph courtesy of Volksarama.com) has no affect on point standings or payouts.  The first member of this club was Eric Calabrese (pictured to the right) who guided his 1957 VW Bug (Red Baron) to a 8.99 second pass on September 5, 2004 at Sacramento Raceway.  Since then he has made numerous eight-second passes and currently holds the PRA Pro Modified ET record of 8.48.  Give Eric a few more years and he may be the first member of the PRA Pro Modified Seven-Second Club?

Super Street Nine-Second ClubThe PRA SUPER STREET NINE-SECOND CLUB is a performance club that honors the drivers in the PRA Super Street class who have run 9.99 seconds or better in the quarter-mile.  To make it into this club you must be a current member (or a member when the pass was made) of the Pro Racing Association (PRA) and make a nine-second pass at a PRA event during qualifying or eliminations.  Unlike the ET and MPH records this does not need to be Roger Crawford (photograph courtesy of Herb Barbee)backed up and has no affect on point standings or payouts.  The first member of this club was Roger Crawford (pictured to the left) who guided his 1958 Karman Ghia (Motion Sickness) to a 9.99 second pass on May 27, 2007 at Sacramento Raceway.  Since then he has made numerous nine-second passes and currently holds the PRA Super Street ET record of 9.907.  Who's next?

The PRA 150 MPH CLUB is a performance club that honors the drivers (past and present) in the PRA who have ran 150 MPH or faster in the quarter-mile.  To make it into this club you had to be a member of the Pro Racing Association (PRA) and make a pass of faster then 150 MPH at a PRA eventDave Perkins (photograph courtesy of Rich Duncan) during qualifying or eliminations.  The first member of the PRA 150 MPH club was Dave Perkins (pictured to the right),  who clocked a 154.69 MPH run back in November of 1991 at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.  The club currently has 4 members from the old Pro Turbo (P/T) class ('90-'99) and 7 from the current Pro Modified (P/M) class.

PERFORMANCE CLUBS OF THE PAST

The PRA PRO TURBO EIGHT-SECOND CLUB is a performance club that honors the past drivers who raced in the PRA Pro Turbo ('90-'99) class and ran 8.99 seconds or better in the quarter-mile.  To make it into this club you had to be a member of the Pro Racing Association (PRA) and make a sub-eight second pass at a PRA event during qualifying or eliminations.  The first (and only!) member of this club was Chris Bubetz who ran a 8.988 second pass on November 7, 1992 at Firebird International Raceway in Chandler, Arizona.  Chris would go on to record a total of nine eight-second passes between 1992 and 1999.
